    Carrboro lifts mask mandate for indoor and outdoor adult sports leagues

    After two years of COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, all indoor and outdoor adult sports leagues operated through Carrboro Recreation, Parks, & Cultural Resources will no longer require masks. The mandate was lifted on April 4 after  Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools dropped its mask requirement. All indoor and outdoor facilities are now fully operational.  “We are following the school system guidelines,” said Carrboro Recreation, Parks, & Cultural Resources Recreation Administrator Charles Harrington. “We have to be respectful to their policies and procedures.”  The changes also apply to adult volleyball drop-in sessions, which were shut down in March 2020 shortly after the pandemic began.     New mask mandate will include indoor sports this fall, Ann Arbor Public Schools says

    ANN ARBOR – Ann Arbor Public Schools’ new universal mask mandate will also impact athletic teams that compete indoors within the district, according to Andrew Cluley, AAPS Director of Communications.     Pritzker’s P-12 mask mandate extends to indoor sports | News

    Gov. J.B. Pritzker has announced a universal mask mandate for Illinois’ P-12 schools that extends to indoor athletics. Pritzker said during a press conference Wednesday afternoon that the rising number of COVID-19 cases among young people, fueled in part by the disease’s spreading Delta variant, is leading to him enforcing universal masking inside of schools regardless of vaccination status.
