    Florida Wins USA Today Network SEC Women’s All-Sports Title

    GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida won the 2021-22 USA Today Network Southeastern Conference Women’s All-Sports title. It was the 24th women’s SEC All-Sports title for the Gators program, which celebrates its 50th season in this academic year.   Tennessee claimed its first SEC Overall All-Sports title. The Vols also claimed their first SEC Men’s All-Sports title since 2007-08. UT won two SEC titles in 2021-22 – baseball and women’s swimming.   Tabulation for the USA Today Network SEC All-Sports standings finished after the close of regular-season baseball play, the final sport to determine a league champion in the 2021-22 season.     Tokyo Olympics: How Quanesha Burks went from McDonalds to team USA

    Quanesha Burks ordered medium fries with no salt and a side of sweet and sour sauce at McDonald’s. She doesn’t do this often, but the day after making her first Olympic team, she decided to treat herself. “I just ate it with so much gratitude in my mouth,” Burks says. Kirby Lee/USA TODAY Sports Before Burks was a full-time professional long jumper, her only previous job experience was working at the McDonald’s in Hartselle, Ala., as a 17-year-old. The town of 14,000 people was also where she and her siblings were raised by her grandparents. She remembers the early years as a struggle, watching her family live paycheck to paycheck.…
