    The City of Moose Jaw completed a successful first year with its Outdoor Sports Field Renewal Program.  The program was developed, in consultation with user groups, to develop a plan for capital projects for the city’s outdoor sports fields and prioritize capital projects.  The city has over 60 outdoor sports fields with 10 major user groups and 2,146 participants registered within those programs as of last year.  The renewal program was finalized in February 2023, with annual funding dedicated to capital projects.  In 2023, the following projects were completed under the Outdoor Sports Field Renewal Program:  New exterior siding on the buildings at Kinsmen Sports Complex at Caribou Heights. …

A contractor for the Altoona Water Authority is fixing a leaky outlet pipe that allowed contaminated Kittanning Run to leak into the Kittanning Point Reservoir near Horseshoe Curve. Normally, the contaminated water bypasses Kittanning Point and two reservoirs downstream. To address the problem until repairs could be made, authority workers lowered the reservoir to create “holding” capacity, authority General Manager Mark Perry said.     Indoor sports facility reportedly going downtown; Commission to vote on acquiring block housing Antique Mall

    It appears the proposed $19 million indoor sports facility will be built downtown. City Commissioners on Tuesday will vote on whether to purchase the full block of properties housing and surrounding the Owensboro Antique Mall — which is one block directly south of a future hotel and two south of the Convention Center. City Manager Nate Pagan said Commissioners will vote on acquiring the group of properties located in between West 3rd and 4th streets and Locust and Cedar streets as well as a roughly $44 million bond agreement. The DPW recently installed 12 isolation valves around the city, to keep main breaks from compromising the entire system. Dunkirk has completed installation of water main isolation valves, authorized after a rupture shut the flow off to the entire city. According to Department of Public Works Director Randy Woodbury, the valves have already averted some more major problems.
