ESPN to air Athletes Unlimited softball, lax through 2023
Athletes Unlimited’s summer seasons of softball and lacrosse will air exclusively on ESPN’s networks two years after the player-led leagues first launched, the company announced Wednesday morning. The main channels of ESPN and ESPN2 will air 34 contests and ESPNU will air an additional 56, placing a total of 90 on linear networks over the two-year deal that runs through 2023. The rest of the at least 160 games will air on ESPN+, the company said. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
