    NORTH SMITHFIELD – With high school sports games set to begin in the coming weeks, the North Smithfield School Committee has approved a short-term vendor agreement to get the new concession stand by the athletic fields up and running. And the district is negotiating a possible long-term contract with town-based business Wide World of Indoor Sports to provide not only concessions, but also a long list of services that includes a shared facility agreement, providing a potential alternative venue for student sports teams in the case of inclement weather.     Freeport-area schools limit spectators for indoor sports due to COVID spike

The guidelines, which were determined at Wednesday’s school board meeting, sets limits of six spectators per home player, four spectators per visiting player and a 40-person student-fan section. Regional School Unit 5 serves Freeport, Pownal and Durham. Basketball is the only sport that is held at the gym in the winter.     New mask mandate will include indoor sports this fall, Ann Arbor Public Schools says

    ANN ARBOR – Ann Arbor Public Schools’ new universal mask mandate will also impact athletic teams that compete indoors within the district, according to Andrew Cluley, AAPS Director of Communications.
