Water authority repairing Kittanning Run outlet pipe | News, Sports, Jobs

Mirror photo by William Kibler / Workers from Allison Park Contractors in Gibsonia, along with Altoona Water Authority employees, repair the leaky outlet pipe at the Kittanning Point Reservoir on Friday morning. A contractor for the Altoona Water Authority is fixing a leaky outlet pipe that allowed contaminated Kittanning Run to leak into the Kittanning Point Reservoir near Horseshoe Curve. Normally, the contaminated water bypasses Kittanning Point and two reservoirs downstream. To address the problem until repairs could be made, authority workers lowered the reservoir to create “holding” capacity, authority General Manager Mark Perry said. This prevented the acid mine drainage water from flowing immediately out…

LOVES PARK — The Rockford Park District’s Skybox Restaurant & Sports Bar at Mercyhealth Sportscore Two, 8800 E. Riverside Blvd., will be under new management beginning this fall. Nick Fosberg, who owns and operates Fozzy’s Bar & Grill, 6246 E. Riverside Blvd., has signed an agreement with the park district to manage what will be called Fozzy’s Skybox. The restaurant is located inside the Mercyhealth Sportscore Two’s massive Indoor Sports Center, which features soccer fields and a golf practice center. “What excites me is being able to do indoor golf events and charity events,” Fosberg said. “There’s also a huge patio that overlooks the soccer fields and they’re (park district) going…

Batting Around: If you caught Aaron Judge’s 62nd home run, what would you ask for in exchange for the ball?

USATSI Throughout the season the CBS Sports MLB experts will bring you a weekly Batting Around roundtable breaking down pretty much anything. The latest news, a historical question, thoughts about the future of baseball, all sorts of stuff. Last week we discussed one of baseball’s newest rules. Now we’re going to break down what we’d do with a milestone baseball. If you caught Aaron Judge’s 62nd homer, what would you want in exchange for giving the ball back? Matt Snyder: Cold, hard cash.  I have no issues with people who want memorabilia and it’s kind of cool to look at sometimes. I just feel like if I had something like…

Delightful Steam Game Lets You Run A Spa For Capybaras

Screenshot: Cozy Bee Games / Kotaku Management sims are games that I love to hate. You face an endless onslaught of extremely demanding customers who want you to perform your services in a very particular way, and pronto. If you leave them unattended for too long, then they make disgruntled faces. Mess up enough times, and they might even dock your pay. None of this happens in Capybara Spa, the chillest business sim on Steam right now. These furry little angels are the most patient, gracious customers I’ve ever served. Capybara Spa is exactly what it says on the tin. You build spa tubs, fruit gardens, and other amenities on…

Valve’s Steam Deck Can Now Run A Lot More Games Than At Launch

Image: Valve When Valve’s Steam Deck launched back in February, it could only certifiably run a (relative) handful of the platform’s 1000s of titles. The exact number was 399, but now, just a few weeks later, that figure has roughly tripled. On February 25, the day of the Steam Deck’s launch, there were the 399 I just mentioned, plus roughly 300 more that were listed as “playable” but still might have some issues. Note that this list included games that ran fine, but had been designed with a big monitor and mouse in mind, and so maybe weren’t the best experience on a handheld device. Anyone buying the Steam Deck…
