Kojima Productions responds to false news reports linking founder to Shinzo Abe assassination
Update 7/10/22: Responding to false news reports that Hideo Kojima somehow perpetrated the assassination of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Kojima Productions has tweeted that the company “strongly condemns the spread of fake news and rumors that convey false information.” The company continues, “We do not tolerate such libel and will consider taking legal action in some cases.” Such legal action would likely be complicated by the international character of the game of telephone which led to news outlets reporting on a right wing French politician’s shockingly irresponsible tweeting in response to a 4Chan hoax. WSF reports record number of paddlesports accidents
Over 37 million participants engaged in paddlesports like kayaking, canoeing and stand-up paddleboarding during the pandemic according to the latest data (2020) from the Outdoor Foundation. This pandemic surge brought an estimated 2.5 million new paddlers to American waterways. However, it increased accidents to 331 and fatalities to a record high 202 – accounting for more than 26% of all boating fatalities that same year.
