    Loves Park restaurateur to run Skybox at park district’s Indoor Sports Center

    LOVES PARK — The Rockford Park District’s Skybox Restaurant & Sports Bar at Mercyhealth Sportscore Two, 8800 E. Riverside Blvd., will be under new management beginning this fall. Nick Fosberg, who owns and operates Fozzy’s Bar & Grill, 6246 E. Riverside Blvd., has signed an agreement with the park district to manage what will be called Fozzy’s Skybox. The restaurant is located inside the Mercyhealth Sportscore Two’s massive Indoor Sports Center, which features soccer fields and a golf practice center. “What excites me is being able to do indoor golf events and charity events,” Fosberg said. “There’s also a huge patio that overlooks the soccer fields and they’re (park district) going…

    Defy Extreme Air Sports has moved into Short Pump, taking over a space vacated by Boomerang Air Sports. (Filip De Mott photos) Jumping in where a competitor left off two years ago, a trampoline park franchise has opened in Short Pump. Defy Extreme Air Sports debuted last month at 205 Towne Center W. Blvd., just west of Short Pump Town Center. The 25,000-square-foot building had been home to Boomerang Air Sports before it closed at the height of the pandemic in 2020 after three years in business.
