Father-and-son Barnes team earns win in 3X9 Series | Outdoor Sports
The 61 teams participating in this week’s 3X9 Series bass tournament finally got a break on the weather after having two of their most recent tournaments negatively impacted by the same. The weather Tuesday at the launch site at Stillhouse Park on Stillhouse Hollow Lake was pleasant, with partly cloudy skies, temperatures in the 70s, and light winds. The water temperature was approximately 68, and the reservoir stood at 3.96 feet low. Finishing in the lead with a weight of 18.88 pounds was the father-and-son team of Daniel and Tanner Barnes. Carothers team wins warm 3X9 Series event with 15.66 pounds | Outdoor Sports
On Tuesday evening, 69 two-angler teams turned out on the shores of Stillhouse Hollow Lake under warm, breezy conditions to compete in the weekly 3X9 Series bass fishing tournament which runs from March through September. The goal each week is to catch the heaviest three-fish limit of bass in the event’s three-hour time limit which begins at 6 p.m. As the event concluded, a three-fish limit weighing 15.66 pounds took first place. This catch was made by the team of Canyon and Skyler Carothers. The anglers’ limit was anchored by the tourney’s second-largest fish. That fish weighed 7.95 pounds and helped the men earn a check for $1,150. Second place…
