
ORONO — Following cancellations of the first two meets of the season due to weather conditions, the Foxcroft Academy indoor track and field team opened the 2022-23 season with a Penobscot Valley Conference/Eastern Maine Indoor Track League meet at the University of Maine on Dec. 30.
ORONO — Following cancellations of the first two meets of the season due to weather conditions, the Foxcroft Academy indoor track and field team opened the 2022-23 season with a Penobscot Valley Conference/Eastern Maine Indoor Track League meet at the University of Maine on Dec. 30.
The Pony boys scored 18 points to place sixth among a field of eight schools.
Foxcroft sophomore Runner Jarrett won the 2-mile in a time of 11 minutes, 42.83 seconds. He bested runner-up George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill sophomore Erik Davis’ time of 11:49.16.
Pony senior Kyle Jankunas added eight points with his second-place performance in the 55-meter hurdles. In the finals, Jankunas ran a time of 8.59 seconds.
Senior Eion Mccloskey had a pair of top 10 finishes. He was eighth in the 200 in 26.25 seconds and 10th in the 55-meter prelims at 7.46 seconds.
In the mile Jarrett came in eighth at 5:31.79 and junior Zachary Peirce was 10th at 5:54.62.
