Athletic directors from Wesco have formulated their own schedule for a return to play for high school sports during the 2020-21 school year.
The league announced Friday its plans for a three-season, Wesco-only schedule that would break away from current plans set forth by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association. The first prep sports practices for Wesco would begin Feb. 22, three weeks later than the current date for the WIAA’s plan of Feb. 1.

The 10 campuses of the Maricopa County Community College District canceled all 2021 indoor spring sports and delayed outdoor ones on Friday.
The news, which was announced in a district press release, came in response to the continued rise in COVID-19 cases across the state.
The move cancels all men’s and women’s basketball games, as well as volleyball matches for the spring semester, while outdoor sports
Upon further review and discussion, yes, it could happen.
The situation would require significant planning, many adjustments and setups, and look quite different, but high-school basketball games, as the Virginia governor asked in a recent press conference regarding sports and the pandemic, in a pinch, could be played outside.

The Norwalk River Valley Trail (NRVT) announces a 1-to-1 match grant from Outdoor Sports Center in Wilton for its year-end campaign, “Join our Journey”. They will match every donation made from Monday, December 14th to Dec. 20th, up to $5000. So with a donation of $50 donated (for example), the NRVT will receive $100 to continue to build more miles of trail.
