The Dean of the Faculty of Sports Studies of MU announces a selection procedure to fill the position: Assistant Professor with a focus on teaching water sports at the University Sports Centre

Masaryk University is the largest university in Moravia and the second largest employer in the South Moravian Region. The Faculty of Sports Studies at MU is one of the smaller, progressively developing faculties. Its mission is to contribute to a physically active and healthy life for all age and performance groups of the population and to develop knowledge in sports and physical activity. The faculty is located on a modern university campus in Brno-Bohunice.

The University Sports Centre provides general physical education classes for all full-time students at Masaryk University. The aim of the Centre is to promote a healthy lifestyle and good exercise habits for university students and, at the same time to support them in acquiring new skills and in their further development in various sports.

Job description:

  • the teaching of subjects with a focus on water sports (rowing, canoeing, dragon boats, etc.),
  • supervising and opposing master and bachelor theses,
  • project and publication activities,
  • organization of university competitions and sporting events of the University Sports Centre and CAUS.

General requirements:

  • PhD in Kinanthropology or related field,
  • focus on the organization and teaching of water sports (rowing, canoeing, dragon boats, etc.),
  • excellent knowledge of the Czech language and active knowledge of English (written and verbal).
