The game between Air Force and Army scheduled for Saturday at West Point has been postponed due to an increase in COVID-19 cases around the Air Force campus. The academies hope to reschedule the game, according to a statement from Air Force.

“We are disappointed to postpone this game, but the health and safety of our cadets, staff and the community continues to be our No. 1 priority at the Academy,” said Air Force Director of Athletics Nathan Pine in the statement. “Due to the upward trends in our COVID numbers across the campus, we have paused all intercollegiate team activities.”

Options to make up the game are limited. The Falcons have Mountain West Conference games scheduled every weekend through Dec. 5, and the Army-Navy game is slated for Dec. 12. Army has already accepted an invitation to the Independence Bowl on Dec. 26 but could conceivably host the Falcons on the 19th. Air Force beat Navy 40-7 on Oct. 3 and had a chance to clinch the trophy with a sweep of its academy rivals.
