LIV Golf set to pay to get tournaments on Fox Sports

LIV Golf is nearing a deal to purchase air time for its tournaments on U.S. cable television, multiple sources have told Golfweek. The potential agreement — which is still being finalized — is with Fox Sports 1. While media companies typically pay sports leagues a substantial rights fee to air their products, the deal would not see LIV receive payment, said a source familiar with the discussions. Instead, LIV — which is controversially financed by the Saudi Arabian regime’s Public Investment Fund — would buy time on the cable channel to air its events, a move that will be widely interpreted as a failure to attract serious commercial interest in…

Men’s Water Polo Splits California Weekend Tournament | Sports

The Harvard men’s water polo team split its four games at the Aggie Round Up in California, easily handling Occidental College and winning an overtime thriller against No. 13 University of California Irvine to elevate the Crimson’s ranking to No. 12 in the country. The contest against UC Irvine (6-6, 0-0), which was the final match of the round-robin tournament, saw Harvard (5-3, 0-0) battle back from a three-goal deficit heading into the final period to force overtime. First-year utility man James Rozolis-Hill punctuated his five-goal performance with the winner in the extra period, propelling the Crimson to an 18-17 victory. Junior attacker Alexandru Bucurchipped in four goals for his…

Pac-12 in danger of eventual collapse as Big Ten considers further expansion, Big 12 interest looms

The Big Ten’s continued pursuit of four Pac-12 schools is leading to concern that another round of expansion could collapse the Pac-12, industry sources tell CBS Sports. This as Big Ten commissioner Kevin Warren continues to seek an offer from Amazon, or potentially another partner, for additional Big Ten football media rights revenue. An offer deemed substantial enough would likely convince Big Ten presidents that California, Oregon, Stanford and Washington would be valuable additions to the league from the Pac-12. That figure is believed to be less than $100 million annually. If the Big Ten makes such a move, it would almost certainly increase the likelihood the Big 12 is…

Ubisoft’s Big Pirate Game Stuck In Dev Hell Gets Delayed Again

Image: Ubisoft Ubisoft faces another massive delay. Earlier this year it was Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Now it’s Skull and Bones, the Assassin’s Creed publisher’s only major fall blockbuster. Previously set to come out in November, two sources familiar with the game’s development now tell Kotaku it’s been delayed again. Ubisoft confirmed as much shortly after publication, announcing a new release date of March 9, 2023. The reason for the latest delay isn’t entirely clear, but it comes less than a month after the game was shown at Ubisoft Forward, the company’s big 2022 gaming showcase. Kotaku understands that Skull and Bones’ latest technical test ended on September 19. According…
