Richard was born on Jan. 14, 1933, in Minot, North Dakota, to Waldo and Dorothy Sherman. He passed away peacefully at home in Bigfork on Oct. 27, 2021. He moved to Shelby with his family sophomore year in high school and worked for his dad at Sherman Motors. In Shelby he met the love of his life and his future wife, Beverly Toole. Richard attended the University of Montana during which he married Beverly. He was drafted into the military and was temporarily stationed in Texas. After his service, the family moved to Shelby and then Great Falls where Dick became an insurance adjuster and eventually state manager for Hartford…
