Quad Indoor Sports back on track

(Photo by Les Jacobson) After a rough pandemic year in 2020, Quad Indoor Sports, the 65,000 square-foot facility at 2454 Oakton St., is back on track for further growth, said co-owner Bill Kindra. The domed sports center opened in January 2016 and has been ramping up with an extensive menu of sports for adults and kids, including soccer, flag football, basketball, lacrosse, dodgeball, kickball, disk golf, track and field, floor hockey, baseball and even pickleball and cricket. Seoul to build integrated water sports center on Han River
[Courtesy of Seoul City] SEOUL — Through a 15.7 billion won ($13.37 million) project, Seoul City will build an integrated water sports center that can house some 220 water sports equipment such as yachts, canoes and kayaks on Han River where visitors can enjoy extreme water sports. Seoul said in a statement on October 21 that the city government will open the water sports center in the first half of 2023 near the Nanji Hangang Park in western Seoul. The Downtown Boxing Gym, a nationally recognized nonprofit, planned to unveil its new outdoor sports complex Tuesday evening featuring a multisport turf field, study pavilion, ice rink and fire pits aimed at creating opportunities for Detroit students all year. “Our mission every day at DBG is to provide the tools and resources our students need to succeed,” said the gym’s founder and CEO, Khali Sweeney. “This newly renovated sports complex is game-changing. BETHLEHEM, Pa. – During its Monday night meeting, the Bethlehem Area School District Board of Directors approved COVID-19 protocols for indoor sports for the rest of the school year. The approved measure “strongly encourages” all BASD student-athletes and coaches to receive the COVID-19 vaccine prior to the winter sports season, scheduled to start Nov. 19. Vaccinated student-athletes are not required to wear masks during athletic participation. In addition, vaccinated student-athletes will not be required to participate in COVID-19 testing if they provide “sufficient proof” that they are fully vaccinated against the virus.
